Norvinz Q & A
Q. What do you like best about your system?
A. It is engaging. It makes me want to listen more. It
covers the full frequency spectrum convincingly: rich and
full on the bottom, extended yet very smooth at the top. It
sounds like what I am used to hearing in the concert hall.
And it does this at any dynamic level, even very loud. Live
music is often shockingly loud. A system that can't
duplicate that is of little interest to me.
Q. What do you like best about the Norvinz products you
own?
A. I was losing interest in audio as a hobby until I heard a
Merrill Scilia turntable. It was a shock that I could be so
drawn in by a single component. It was beyond satisfying.
That turntable is a work of art unto itself, while never
imposing its own signature onto the musicians' recorded art.
Quite a feat.
Q. What is your regular profession and why did you decide
to become a Norvinz FR?
A. I'm an orchestral musician who has toured and performed
with the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra,
and many others, with the finest conductors and soloists
alive. I occasionally cross over into the pop realm. I
wanted to be in business with Norvinz because I know and
respect the people involved, and because I wanted to be part
of this venture. The products are truly exciting and the
people are top notch.
Q. What, in your opinion, is your best qualification to
be a Norvinz FR and to serve the Norvinz customer?
A. Nothing, except my ears and my honesty. I barely know a
proton from an electron, but I know when a system sounds
like live music. My technical ignorance makes me immune to
fake specs and hype. Sound and musicality are the only
things I can really talk about, and I think that's a good
way to approach audio from the consumer side.
Q. How did you become a Norvinz FR?
A. I was lucky to be in the room with Vinh the very first
time the MS21 played a record, and I wanted to be part of
bringing this astonishing family of products to as many
listeners as possible. |
